A shop counter has one requirement the rest of the business does not: the next customer is already waiting. Everything on this page follows from that.
What setup actually does
On the first screen you say the business sells goods it keeps in stock, and sells them over a counter. That answer turns on the till and the stock ledger and leaves the rest of the app quiet until you want it. Nothing is locked — the tick boxes on that screen are the same ones in Settings, so a shop that later starts taking wholesale orders switches that on itself.
The till
Full screen, keyboard driven, no mouse required. Scan or type a code, take cash or card, print. The slip that comes out is a simplified tax invoice with the ZATCA QR on it in Saudi Arabia, and a GST bill in India — the country pack decides, not a setting you have to remember.
Stock that matches the shelf
Stock on hand moves when you sell, not when you get around to a stock take. Reorder levels tell you what to buy before the shelf is empty, and batch and expiry tracking is there for the aisles that need it. Purchase bills come in the same way sales go out, so margin is arithmetic the app already has rather than a spreadsheet you keep alongside.
The month end
VAT and GST return workings are built from the invoices you already raised. Supplier bills that arrive as a photo or a PDF on WhatsApp go into the document inbox, get read, and come back as a draft bill for you to check — the checking is the part a human should do, and the typing is not.
What it costs
Free for the first year, ZATCA Phase 2 included. Paid plans buy support and AI capacity. Compliance is not the thing being sold, because a shop should not have to pay to be legal.
Frequently asked questions
Does the till work when the internet drops?
Yes. The app keeps its data on the device and syncs when a connection comes back, so a queue at the counter is not an outage. Invoices raised offline are reported once the device is online again, which is the behaviour Phase 2 expects of simplified invoices.
Can I run it on the shop's existing computer?
It runs in a browser, and there is a Windows build and an Android build of the same app. A counter PC, a laptop and the owner's phone can all be on the same books.
Do I need a barcode scanner?
No, but any USB scanner works — it types the code as if it were a keyboard and the cart picks up the item. The till is built to be driven from a keyboard first, because that is faster than a mouse at a counter.
